Perfection of Licensure

Many people are familiar with the notion of perfecting title on a piece of property in a real estate transaction. Those familiar with licensing transactions can appreciate the need for a similar exercise to ensure that the rights offered in a piece of intellectual property, or "IP", are in order. This is especially true regarding large complex software products with many components of acquired software or other IP.

DTI's Perfection of Licensure service confirms that a supplier has obtained all the appropriate rights to software and IP components of its product - and has remained compliant with the terms of those licenses in its use of them and other responsibilities. The service can be engaged and provided to the supplier/licensor, or the recipient/licensee when arranged with the licensor(s) in question.
